2002 - Alberta Kuhn
Alberta was a member of the Michigan WBA Board for 23 years, eleven as a Director, five years as 4th Vice-President, and seven years as 1st Vice-President. She was named Member Emerita when she retired. While on the Board, she served on many committees, as a member or Chairman. 25 Year Club, Finance and Budget, Membership Promotion, Legislative, WIBC 25th, Awards & Services, to mention a few.
Alberta is one busy lady. In the eight years she’s been on the WIBC Board, she has served on many committees and performed various assignments. Committees: Competition, Deitch Retirement, Recognition Chairman, Strategic Planning and YABA. She attended five State Meetings, two Jamborees and three Open Forums.
Locally, she has served the Lansing WBA 34 years, seven as a Director, nine as 1st Vice-President and is currently the President, which position she has held for eighteen years.
As if that isn’t enough, she is the Lansing Bowling Council Secretary/Treasurer Served the Greater Lansing Hall of Fame as Director two years, Vice-President six years and President five years.
With all these bowling oriented activities, she still had time for other interests, such as Oldsmobile Toastmasters Secretary/Treasurer, General Motors Women’s Club President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Club Advisor, Great Lakes State Games Coordinator and Greater Lansing Senior Challenge Coordinator.
It goes without saying that she would be honored for these activities. She was inducted into the Lansing Hall of Fame for Superior Performance, earned the National Women’s Bowling Writers Bev Ortner AMF Award, Michigan Proprietors Assn. Recognition and the Lansing Convention Bureau Award for outstanding service.
With all these activities, Alberta still found time to bowl. Her high scores include a 180 average, 279 game and 663 three-game series.
For her commitment, Alberta is very deserving of the Meritorious Service Award.
