2014 - * Roger Schildroth

The Michigan State USBC BA proudly honors the addition of Roger Schildroth to the Michigan State USBC BA Hall of Fame for Meritorious service.

Roger has been very committed to our sport for over the past quarter of a century.

He has been a delegate to the Michigan State BA Annual meeting for 24 years and has served as President of the Michigan State Youth and its predecessors for 27 years, a post he currently holds. He also currently serves as President of the Michigan State Seniors.

He has served as a delegate to the USBC/ABC convention for 26 years. Also as an observer, Roger has attended the WIBC national meetings for 17 years. He has been a member of the Michigan State USBC WBA Hall of Fame committee for 9 years. Rogers was a member of the Grand Rapids Bowling council for 23 years.

Roger served for 19 years on the Greater Grand Rapids Bowling Association board as a director. From 1985 until 2006 Roger was the Secretary of the Greater Grand Rapids YABA. He has also been a certified lane inspector for over 20 years.

One could wonder how he found the time to be a high school coach for over 12 years, as well.

During this time he was a regional director for the Michigan High School Coaches for 3 years.

Roger was also a YABA Certified coach for 25 years.

Roger has garnered many honors in his career including being inducted into the Grand Rapids Bowling Hall of Fame in 2006, was the recipient of the Grand Rapids Convention Bureau “Hometown Hero” award in 1993 and he and his wife Sharon, had the Michigan State USBC Youth Invitational renamed in their honor a few years back.

Roger also can lay claim to a high game of 278 and at least a few 700 series; as well as a high average of 190.
