2013 - Dan Dorion
Dan Dorion is being inducted into the Michigan State USBC BA Hall of Fame in the Veteran’s Category for Meritorious Service
He has been a strong supporter of the Michigan State Tournament organizing squads for over 20 years. In 1985 Dan organized 80 teams for the Michigan State tournament held in Lansing. He also organized several teams each year for the ABC National tournaments.
He was Secretary/ Tournament Manger of the Bay City Bowling Association 700 club in 1989 and filled the event to capacity, a fifty percent increase in entries from the previous year.
He served as a Director on the Bay City Bowling Association board.
His talents as a coach are legendary. In 1990 he began coaching at Saginaw Valley State University, turning the school into a national bowling powerhouse. His teams have won four national championships and runner up twice. Twelve times his teams have finished in the top 10.
Dan was honored as the Michigan State Bowling Association “Man of the Year” in 1990 and was inducted into the Bay City Bowling Hall of Fame in 1991.
