1978 - Patricia McCormick

At the young age of 27, Patty had that first taste of being a winner. Bowling with the Steelcase Majors team who claimed the Michigan WBA team championship in 1959, she also became the WIBC All Events champion the same year with a 1927.

On the State level, additional titles were won. Patty bowled with the Dauser & Brower Construction team when they won in 1965. Doubles titles were won in 1960 with partner Dolly Konwinski and in 1968 with partner Charlotte Kardas. She was the All Events champion in 1968. 

In 1966, Patty was bowling with the Orphane Team when they won the WIBC team event. She has 16 local association titles to her name in team, doubles, singles and all events and boasts a high series 789 and high game of 297 while bowling in exhibition. 

While her career high average of 197 was attained in 1972, she maintained a 195 over a 5-year consecutive period from 1969 through 1973. In sanctioned competition her career high series was 747 and high game was 275 with many games in the 250-260’s. In 1974 in winning the Greater Grand Rapids 600 Club Tournament, she bowled an 817 for 4 games which averaged a 204 per game. 

As a member of the AMF Staff of Champions she travelled to Greenland in 1963 and to Japan in 1968 and 1970. 

Our inductee is a former member of the Professional Women’s Bowling Association and was one of the founders of the Great Lakes Invitational Tournament Club.
